In Q3 of 2017 WBR Digital & ManuPharma surveyed 100 Heads of Manufacturing. The research prioritised large to mid-scale pharmaceutical companies and contract manufacturing organisations. Respondents to the survey were VP’s of manufacturing and technical operations, directors of IT and others of an equal standing. The survey was conducted by appointment over the telephone. The results were compiled and anonymised and presented here with analysis and commentary from the ManuPharma community.

In Q3 of 2017 WBR Digital & Smart Manufacturing Leaders Summit surveyed 100 Heads of Manufacturing. The research targeted a range sectors from Automotive and Defence to FMCG. Respondents to the survey were VP’s of Manufacturing and Operations, Directors of IT, and others of an equal standing. The key findings revealed that VPs and Global Heads of Manufacturing were recognised by 46% of our respondents as being those responsible to drive transformation within smart manufacturing. Over a third of respondents believed that buying new technology is much more advantageous in accessing the opportunities offered by the IIoT and Industry 4.0. Moreover, a lack of cohesion between teams was recognized by 38% of respondents as being the biggest organisational challenge in adopting smart manufacturing.
