The numerous elements of the manufacturing process are now more integrated than ever before. New technologies are permitting humans and machines to work together in making quick, real-time decisions as problems arise – and sometimes even before then. But implementing innovative changes to a moving manufacturing chain is a mammoth task. In Q3 of 2018 WBR Insights surveyed 100 VPs of Operations, VPs of Manufacturing, Plant Directors and those of a similar standing from companies across Europe to find out more about the challenges they’re facing and the innovative solutions being brought to the table.
Outsmarting the competition - Smart Manufacturing report
In Q3 of 2017 WBR Digital & Smart Manufacturing Leaders Summit surveyed 100 Heads of Manufacturing. The research targeted a range sectors from Automotive and Defence to FMCG. Respondents to the survey were VP’s of Manufacturing and Operations, Directors of IT, and others of an equal standing. The key findings revealed that VPs and Global Heads of Manufacturing were recognised by 46% of our respondents as being those responsible to drive transformation within smart manufacturing. Over a third of respondents believed that buying new technology is much more advantageous in accessing the opportunities offered by the IIoT and Industry 4.0. Moreover, a lack of cohesion between teams was recognized by 38% of respondents as being the biggest organisational challenge in adopting smart manufacturing.
